Nancy J. Auer, MD

Dr. Auer is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Swedish Health System in Seattle, WA. An emergency medical physician, Dr. Auer has been a part of Swedish for more than 30 years, serving in various key positions, including Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Staff, Medical Director of Emergency Services and Vice President of Medical Affairs. Dr. Auer retired from active practice in 2010 and now serves as a consultant on medical staff and leadership issues. Additionally, she is past President of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

Ron Dobson, MD

Dr. Dobson is a nationally recognized expert in medical-legal questions and has served as a consultant in more than 1,000 cases for the legal profession during the past 30 years. In addition to his clinical expertise, he has extensive administrative experience, including having served as the Executive Director of Emergency Services for Swedish Health Services and Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Dobson is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and did his post-doctoral training at the University of Washington. He attained Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine, and is one of less than a dozen physicians in the country who has been certified in all three specialties.

David J. Samuels, MBA

David J. Samuels is an expert in emergency department staffing, and facility and professional reimbursement. Mr. Samuels currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the Western US for EmCare. Mr. Samuels’ expertise has been sought on numerous occasions by the government and large healthcare systems. Additionally, he has served as the Project Director for multiple federal and state advisory curriculum development and consulting positions. After completing his undergraduate degree in Biology from Iowa State University and his MBA from Arizona State University, Mr. Samuels spent 20+ years with Samaritan Health System in both executive and corporate officer positions. He also served as the CEO of AirEvac, the largest hospital based-air medical program in the US.

Howard M. Willson, MD, MBA

Howard M. Willson, MD, MBA, is a board-certified emergency physician and president of Seattle Emergency Physicians Services. His work in applying lean methodology to the emergency department has helped stop ambulance diversion and has markedly shortened patient length of stay. He has served on hospital peer review and medication safety committees. Howard received his BA from Dartmouth College, his MD from the University of Illinois, and his MBA from Wharton. He enjoys running, skiing and sailing. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.
